Meet "CHARLES": where heritage meets innovation. Crafted from recycled dock piles sourced from Melbourne's historic waterfront, CHARLES is a table that embodies the essence of sustainable design and timeless elegance.

CHARLES is a work in progress, a future project that reimagines the character and resilience of old dock structures. The design of the table legs, angled and varied, mirrors the weathered, imperfect lines of the original piles. Just like these dock piles, the legs of CHARLES are not square and straight, but carry a unique rustic charm. The tabletop, representing the water surface, is flat and level, offering a stark contrast to the legs and creating a harmonious balance.

The edges of CHARLES tell a story of the sea, marked by the marine borer and adorned with the remnants of shells, giving it a distinct and rugged aesthetic. This table not only stands as a functional piece of furniture but also as a tribute to Melbourne’s maritime heritage.
